Q: How long will it take my carpet
to dry?
A: Average time is between 8
-24 hours to completely dry. The weather and thickness of carpet does factor into the dry-time. If the weather is humid or
damp that will increase dry-time or if your carpet is a thicker nap, it will also increase dry-time. Using household fans
and/or air conditioning significantly helps to reduce the drying time by create continuous air circulation flow and removing
moisture from the air.
Q: Will I be able to walk on
the carpet right away?
A: Yes you can walk on the carpet right away.....Spurlings
can provide you with a pair of "wet-proof" shoe booties to slip on your feet so your socks won't get wet or soil from
your shoes won't get onto the clean carpet.
Q: Will furniture be moved for
the cleaning process?
A: Yes, we will move most of the furniture
for you, however we are not able to move larger pieces such as wall size entertainment centers, computer desks,
hutches or curio cabinets. All we ask is that you please remove any breakable items from furniture being moved.
Q: How often should I have my
carpets cleaned?
A: Every carpet should be cleaned and protected
at least once per year. Households with pets & children or lots of traffic, should be cleaned 2-4 times
per year depending on the amount of soil accumulation.
Q: Do you clean all types of
carpets?
A: Sorry, we don't clean 'patterned' wool carpets, due to the special cleaning process required.
Q: Do you clean all types of
upholstery?
A: We clean all synthetic upholstery fabrics
like nylon, polyester, mixed and microfiber, however we don't clean leather, cotton or wool fabrics due to the special
cleaning agents & process required.
Q: What is the cleaning method
used for carpet & upholstery?
A: Spurlings uses the truck mounted hot water
extraction method. The water reaches 210 degrees which helps to loosen & separate the soil build up from the fibers
and fabric for a thorough disinfecting clean.
Q: How far in advance should
I schedule an appointment?
A: If you need an appointment at a specific
time on a specific day, then we recommend scheduling at least a week in advance and possibly 2 weeks, during our busy seasons.
If your appointment day & time can be flexible, then usually an appointment can be scheduled within 2-4 days.
Q: Are the cleaning products
Spurlings uses, safe for pets and children?
A: Absolutely and if you or anyone in the home
is chemically sensitive or allergic to certain chemical cleaning products..... Spurlings can use cleaning products that
are made only from fruits and seed extracts to clean with.
Q: Are there any gurantees?
A: If a spot re-surfaces during the drying
process and it is not due to wear & tear of the carpet, Spurlings will happily return to make another attempt to remove
the spot that has re-appeared.
Q: Should I have protector re-applied?
A: When carpet & upholstery are manufactured,
before being sold, a protector of some type is applied to help keep it looking new and add some resistance to staining,
for a small portion of it's life. All protectants eventually wear off, similiar to wax on a car. Soil is very abrassive
to carpet & upholstery. It actually scratches the carpet fibers, causing a dull look and making it more susceptible
to wear patterns and set-in staining. If you want to keep your carpet & upholstery looking their best, resistant to staining
and soil build-up, it is highly recommended to have protector re-applied after each cleaning. Isn't is worth the small extra
cost to re-apply protector, rather than replacing carpets before they have lived their full life?
Q: How long will it take for
my upholstery to dry?
A: Standard dry time for upholstery is 3
- 8 hours. Drying time will be minimal if a household fan is placed in front of the upholstery to create continuous air
circulation.
Q: How long will it take for
my mattress to dry?
A: Standard dry time for mattresses is 2
- 4 hours. Spurlings will place a powerful carpet dryer in front of the mattress to dry it in very little time and return
to pick up the dryer within 24 hours.
Q: Are there any hidden charges?
A: We have built our company to make
certain that there are no surprises. It is sometimes difficult to visualize what a customer is describing to us over the phone,
so most of the time we will offer a price range for a maximum and a minimum charge for the service. Also if a room
size is actually larger than originally described on the phone, then there may be an added cost as well as any additional
services reqested by the customer...of course that will cost extra.
